Rancho Viejo's Boys Basketball Named Championship Winners

Rancho Viejo Middle Schools (RVMS) Boys Basketball team ended their 13 game season as championship winners. On Thursday, March 10, 2016, RVMS beat North Mountain Middle School from San Jacinto 61-49 in the championship game.

Coach Israel Marshall stated how proud he was of his team for their continued hard work. He said, “We were aggressive defensively and everyone was focused on working together as a family to achieve what we set out to accomplish in winning our second straight championship.”

Coach Marshall said the team performed best when they controlled the tempo of the game. All year they focused on playing at a fast pace, with great defense, and rebounding. Throughout the season the team was able to put these goals into action and reap the benefits. During the championship game, the starters were pulled at halftime because they were up by more than 20 points.  T.Y. Miller, Antoine Sullivan, and Darrius Bennett each scored in the double digits during the first half.

Coach Israel Marshall and the RVMS’ Boys Basketball now have back-to-back championship victories!
