Welcome to the Lair of the DragonLady! This year your child will have the express opportunity to learn the art of creativity through either Drama or Creative Writing. Your child will have the opportunity to do one of the following classes:
Creative Writing 6th, 7th or 8th
A class that is separated by grade level to teach the art of creative writing through the projects that allow for creative thinking and many times group interaction with the incorporation of technology
Drama 1
A class that is for begining students (6 or 7 grade) who want to learn the art of public speaking and entertaining on stage.
Drama 2
A class that is geared toward students who have already had Drama 1 or are a current 8th grader who wants to learn the art of public speaking and entertaining on stage.
Creative Writing 6th, 7th or 8th

Basketball Update
The Basketball banquet is scheduled for April 29, 2016 at 5 to 7 in the RVMS MPR. Hope to see the team and parents present.
Basketball update
RVMS Girls Basketball plays Monte Vista today at home. We hope to add a win to our current record of 0-3. The girls have played well but we have lost it in the end by just a few points. Come out and cheer for the girls!
Basketball Info
I have posted the 2016 girls roster to my Basketball page along with the schedule for the season. Please feel free to print it out if you like and come support the lady mavericks. Our first game is next week on Tuesday at home against Acacia.
Drama Event
In February, Drama will be hosting the RVMS Talent Show. Drama runs the concessions as a fundraiser. Looking for drama students to donate to the cause and work this event.
Girls Basketball Update
There will be a girls basketball informational meeting Nov. 18, 2015 after school to give information about this seasons team. Girls interested in playing should attend.
Tryouts begin Monday November 30, 2015 when we come back from Thanksgiving break. Please come prepared.
Drama Update
The students are preparing for the final show for the semester, Bare Bones of Drama. This is a show to present what the students have learned for the semester. There will be two show dates.
Drama 1 Tuesday December 8 at 5 pm
Drama 2 Thursday December 10 at 5 pm
Both shows are mandatory for both classes at they must work the tech for the show that they are not in.
I will send letters home about the show when we return from Break.
Girls Basketball Information
Basketball Tryouts will be in December!
If you are interested in playing for the team this season, come get paperwork from room 603.
Drama Haunted Stage
We have two weeks to prepare for the Haunted stage event!
Students need to do the following:
Bring concession items by Monday Oct 26, 2015
Attend rehearsals: Mornings 8:00 to 8:50 Oct 20, 21, 22, 26, 27, 28, 29
After School 3:45 to 5:00 Oct 20, 21, 22, 26, 27, 28, 29
The show is October 30th.
Students should not leave after school that day as it will take time to prep for the show.
Tickets are $5.00 for the show pre-sale. $7.00 at the door on the day of the event.

Drama Show Update
Hola Drama Parents,
We have two more weeks of rehearsals to prepare for The Wonderful World of WICOR which will be performed September 18, 2015. Please preview the rehearsals schedule below:
September 8, 9, & 10 at 8 am to 8:50 am - meet outside the MPR
September 9 & 10 at 3:45 to 5 pm after school for props and costumes
September 15, 16, 17 8 am to 8:50 am - meet outside MPR
September 18 Meet outside MPR to prep by 8 am. Shows in the morning.
Upcoming Drama Events
Drama 2 is currently preparing for this years AVID play entitled: The Wonderful WICOR of AVID. This will be a school production so all the students will have the opportunity to watch it. The show date is on September 18, 2015.
