Current state of accountability
As many of you are aware, the state of California has transitioned from the California standards test (CST) to the new CAASPP, (California Assessment of Student Progress and Performance. CAASPP measures California's newly adopted state standards in Language Arts and Mathematics.
The state will be sending home individual student results for the 2016-2017 school year soon. The goal of the CAASPP report is to illustrate a students growth over time, as well as the students current level of proficiency.
Here at RVMS we will continue to monitor student progress through the following multiple measures: STAR test which measures students independent Reading Level, as well as their Lexile level three times per year. Authentic performance tasks designed for RCD Instructional Units, Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) exam three times a year, CELDT testing for students who are learning English as a second language, and the CAASPP exams each year.
