Dear Tahquitz HS, Rancho Viejo, and Cawston Families:

Please be advised that while our campuses remain safe, law enforcement and emergency personnel are in the area responding to a nearby fire. We want to reassure you that there is no threat to our schools and classes will remain in session as we closely monitor and assess the nearby activity.

Cawston Elementary: At this time, ELOP is cancelled today at Cawston Elementary due to ash fall. School administration is contacting families to make them aware of this. At 3 PM, an HUSD bus will transport any remaining ELOP students to Fruitvale Elementary.

RVMS: Afterschool programs at RVMS are also being cancelled.  Any students not picked up will be transported to Fruitvale to await parental pickup at 3 PM. Every attempt to pick up your student at the release time is appreciated.

THS: Tahquitz High School is currently in Shelter in Place. Think Together Program is cancelled. Every attempt to pick up your student at the release time is appreciated and we will send further communication if Back to School Night is cancelled.

Additionally, please be advised that Menlo Avenue and Cawston Avenue are currently blocked due to the fire. We recommend accessing Cawston Elementary from the North.

We will keep you updated if there are further developments. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this time. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority.

Sincerely,

Hemet Unified
